What is PWP?
We are the Twin Cities Chapter of Parents Without Partners ("PWP"). PWP is the largest international non-profit organization devoted to the welfare and interests of single parents and their children. PWP was founded in New York City in 1957 and now has chapters across North America and Australia.
What can PWP do for me?
Our aim is to provide single parents and their children with an opportunity for enhancing personal growth, self-confidence and sensitivity towards others. We offer a friendly supportive environment for you and your children, offering the opportunity to meet others living within the same family structure and thriving! No more feeling isolated or standing out in the crowd just because we're part of a single parent family. Our organization also provides insurance coverage, should unforseen problems arise during an event.

What does the local chapter do?
Together we organize regular activities for our members and their children around the Twin Cities area. These include educational and family activities as well as adult social and recreational events. Everyone is encouraged to host an event - we'll help you too! We outline the different event types in our Activities page.
Who is eligible?
To quote from PWP International Bylaws:
"To be eligible for membership in PWP, a person must be the parent of one or more sons or daughters, and be single by reason of death, divorce, separation or never married, or other reason which may be deemed acceptible by PWP, Inc. Custody of children is not a factor. Attendence to member activities requires a membership card, which will be mailed to members after completing an orientation and a background check."
Everyone is welcome to attend an orientation to learn more about PWP!
